Sawgrass Mills, one of the largest regional mall complexes in Florida, required interface between K&S and city, county and state agencies for the development of this 1,240-acre regional mall and residential development. K&S provided master plan services, engineering design, inspection and management services for the infrastructure improvements necessary to serve this development. The infrastructure included design and construction of the City of Sunrise regional water distribution and sanitary sewer lift stations. K&S was also responsible for the design and construction of a major bridge project over C-14 Canal to service the site. Permitting for the improvement involved 28 city, county and state agencies in order to obtain construction permits. This project involved joint efforts of both the City of Sunrise and the City of Plantation, and our team acted on behalf of both cities in order to coordinate and expedite governmental approval. The firm also provided construction management services for the utility improvement project and roadway improvement projects in order to ensure that the improvements were constructed in accordance with the plans and specifications.
